Drying time and timber quality depend on the air velocity and its uniform circulation. The highest conceivable drying rate is obtained by rapid circulation of air across the surface of wood, giving rapid removal of moisture evaporating from the wood.

To protect your wood reserves and to make sure timber would not become damp and mold inside all our log stores have lower rear panel to allow air circulation.

Some of the best ways to ensure air circulation is to stack your wood in a row or rows. When stacking against a solid surface such as back panel of the log store stack it a few inches away from the surface. Also when stacking rows next to each other keep the rows a few inches apart. This allows space for air to circulate on both sides of the log store. Or even better just stack one row by itself in a way where the whole side of it will be exposed to the sun.

Raised base to reduce the risk of ground damp causing damage

All our log stores come with slatted and raised base. To just remember to have proper airflow for your wood storage which will keep wood from increased moisture, mold and fungus. Also raised base drastically reduces chance of your wood supplies to be infested by insects or bacteria, which is a huge factor in speeding up the decaying process.

50mm overhang to allow water runoff

The roofs have generous overhang to protect from rain and reduce blown back drip-page.

All log stores are manufactured from construction grade timber

• Each log store is supplied in knockdown form for easy on-site assembly and to allow access to the site location. Easy assemble and only requires a screwdriver (preferably battery operated). There is no need for any further treatment as the pressure treatment process can protect against rot and fungus for up to 15 years, on the other hand, like all wood, it will weather and season naturally over time. The products will turn an attractive silvery grey over the years. We would advise adding a furniture oil or linseed oil based product once a year just to replenish and moisturise the wood, which will also delay the weathering process.
